We recently wrapped up a full basement underpinning and renovation in a Toronto West End Semi-detached house, turning 600 ft² of unusable crawl space into a bright, functional extension of the home.
By operating under our architect-led design-build model, we managed the entire lifecycle of the project—from the initial building condition assessment and architecture to permits and construction management. The best part? By bidding out to multiple trades, we saved the homeowner over $50,000 in construction costs!
The design included custom millwork including solid oak stairs with oak handrail and a wood cap railing. The subtle reveal in the wood cap adds a distinct shadow line at tracing the stairwell. The plumbing and mechanical services were reconfigured and centralised in a new dedicated untility room. An additional three-piece washroom and dedicated laundry closet were also introduced into the design.
